Valparaiso star Steve Cook

under Track and Field it says, "Valparaiso star, Steve Cook, was the 1965 NCAA National Champion in 120M high hurdles, he placed 2nd in 1964 & 1966."

1. there is not and never has been a 120M high hurdles event in the NCAA. in 1965 the men's high hurdles were run over 120 yards and the result was: 1. Paul Kerry (Southern California) 14.0; 2. Jerry Cerulla (Utah State) 14.0; 3. Theo Viltz (Southern California) 14.1; 4. Pat Pomphrey (Tennessee) 14.1.

2. in 1964 (being an olympic year) the event was held over 110 metres, and the result was: 1. Bobby May (Rice Un.) 13.7; 2. Pete Whitehouse (Notre Dame) 14.1; 3. Norman Johnston (Iowa State) 14.2; 4. Theo Viltz (Southern California) 14.2.

3. in 1966 it was held over 120 yards and the result was: 1. Ron Copeland (UCLA) 13.7; 2. Dale Fredrick (Arizona) 13.8; 3. Pat Pomphrey (Tennessee) 14.0; 4. Al Rockwell (Brigham Young) 14.1.

4. Steve Cook (Valpairiso) was not in the final in any of these years.

5. the first person from Valparaiso University to appear in a NCAA Track & Field Final was Collette Liss who finished 9th in the women's indoor 3000m in 1999, running 9:27.69

I have therefore deleted this comment in its entirety since it is a) unsourced, b) factually incorrect, c) irrelevant to an article about the Collegiate Conference in which "Valparaiso star, Steve Cook" never participated. Cottonshirtτ 12:29, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
