Talk:Impulse oscillometry
Add topicRestructuring the Impulse oscillometry page and creating an Oscillometry page
[edit]This article should be split into two separate articles. As its written now, IOS is being conflated with oscillometry (OS). These are actually two related, but separate, technologies. IOS is one variant of OS, but in recent years the technology has focused more on the applications of proprietary Airwave Oscillometry Systems (AOS). Mechanically, IOS and AOS are distinct and should be separate pages. However, the underlying mechanics of OS (that is the treatment of lungs as restive and elastic systems) is not unique to IOS and is shared by both OS variants.
I propose this page be converted to the page describing OS as a whole, and that sub-pages be created for IOS and AOS. Emxnmatrix (talk) 17:07, 24 August 2026 (UTC)
