Observations and suggestions for improvements

[edit]

The following observations and suggestions for improvements were collected, following expert review of the article within the Science, Tecnology, Society and Wikipedia course at the Politecnico di Milano, in June 2020.

The text emphasizes above all the applications in the CAVE VR system, but other techniques are equally important (i.e. Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) and hybrid technologies (virtuals / physicals).

Application areas can also be implemented. Majorett (talk) 21:00, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

That's hardly an 'expert review' if that's all you noticed wrong in the article...  LlywelynII 01:08, 29 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Complete rebuild

[edit]

VR and similar technologies can be used to reproduce immersion on the cheap or to automate high-level immediate feedback and assessment, but they have absolutely nothing to do with immersion or immersive learning itself. The article requires an entire rewrite from the ground up to discuss actual immersive learning, particularly with regards to language acquisition.

Much of the current material might need to be sloughed off to avoid wp:undue focus on a currently still somewhat wp:fringe aspect of the practice. If it needs to be parked at a home focused specifically on computerized and virtual tools used in creating immersive learning environments, then it needs to be moved to a different namespace involving the word "virtual".  LlywelynII 01:08, 29 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
