Let's settle this issue CALMLY between us, please. Would like you to go on Wikipedia and OPEN UP other MORE EXPERINCED PEOPLE's ALREADY-EDITED Wiki pages and see for yourself if they are LEAVING [url-status=dead] or LEAVING [url-status=live] as you did, when you reverted my recent edit on Ikram Chughtai. The result of this DISCUSSION should BENEFIT both of us. I assure you, I'll immediately stop doing [url-status=dead] in my EDITS on Wikipedia, if I am wrong. It sounds crazy but it might be true. Let us both find out what the correct way of Wiki-editing is???... Ngrewal1 (talk) 18:40, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Ngrewal1 Thanks for raising the point. My concern was with URLs that are still accessible but may be blocked in certain regions. I verified a number of them using a VPN, and several sources that appeared unavailable were in fact still live. My concern was not with the general use of url-status=dead where the original URL is genuinely unavailable and an archive is being used. I'll take another look at the affected citations so we can make sure the parameters and tags are being applied correctly. Khaatir (talk) 18:43, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
