- No problem, and do not say sorry, you have the same rights what I have. To be famous is not considered as a WP:notability,
you are right, there are many who are notable but we need for that WP:reliable sources, take a look at both of that policies then you know more and better about creating the articles on the wikipedia pages. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~). Feel free to ask any question about this regard.Thanks. Justice007 (talk) 08:30, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- there very reliable sources of publication of Idris Azad in references. one of his own books, a senior poet (Zaheer Baqir Blaouch) contributes as preface writer and introduces Idris Azad in details. on the other hand this book is indeed itself a reliable source. i want to use that reference for the life history article person. also i want to share if put article person name in google it returns with millions of results the same person which is article person. As well as there are three other books with me in offline properly published but i don't find there link on internet. In those books Article person life history also has given in detail. Proposed updates to the article
[edit]I am assisting with research concerning Idrees Azad and have a close connection to the subject. I am not seeking to add promotional material. I would like to propose neutral and reliably sourced revisions to the lead, early life, education, and philosophy sections. I will provide the proposed wording and citations before any substantial changes are made.
The proposed revisions would:
- remove outdated material concerning the film industry;
- update the brief account of his teaching at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, and Sukkur IBA University;
- correct and clarify his education;
- revise the philosophy section using published sources;
- add a brief sourced account of his work on Iqbal’s concept of the appreciative self.

- Proposed replacement for the lead
- I propose replacing the current lead with the following neutral and concise text:
- Idris Azad (Urdu: ادریس آزاد; born Idrees Ahmad on 7 August 1969) is a Pakistani writer, philosopher, poet, novelist and literary critic. His work includes fiction, poetry, philosophy, literary criticism and studies of Muhammad Iqbal. He has written several books, including historical novels and works on philosophy and Iqbal studies.
- Azad taught philosophy at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, and also taught at Sukkur IBA University.
- This revision would remove the outdated material concerning the film industry and summarize the subject's principal fields of work in a neutral manner.
- Sources supporting the proposed wording include:
- Pakistan Academy of Letters writers directory and the bibliographic sources already cited in the article for his authorship, publications and date of birth.
- International Islamic University course and examination records listing Idrees Azad as the instructor for “Introduction to Logic and Philosophy”.
- Sukkur IBA University course records listing Idrees Azad among the teaching faculty.
- His published works and research relating to Iqbal studies and philosophy, already listed in the article's references and publications section.

- Proposed revision to the early life and education section
- I propose replacing the current early life and education section with the following neutral and sourced text:
- Azad was born in Khushab, Punjab, Pakistan. He studied philosophy at the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He later completed an MPhil in Iqbal Studies at Allama Iqbal Open University. His thesis was titled Iqbal ka Tasawwur-e-Arzi Paiwastagi: Samaji-o-Hayatiyati Tanazur Mein (Iqbal’s Concept of Earth-Rootedness: A Socio-Biological Perspective).
- The wording is intentionally concise and avoids unsupported details concerning family background, early schooling and doctoral studies. The MPhil qualification, thesis title, institution and supervisor are documented in the official Allama Iqbal Open University library catalogue.
- [1] OptimisticOtis (talk) 12:29, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- Proposed revision to the philosophy section
- I propose replacing the current philosophy section with the following concise and attributed text:
- Azad's philosophical writings focus on Muhammad Iqbal's concept of the self, the philosophy of science, and questions concerning consciousness, time, space and biological development. In his writings on socio-biological evolution, he uses the term “freedom from Earth-rootedness” to describe the development of life and consciousness beyond forms of existence that remain closely bound to the terrestrial environment.
- In The Eternal Witness, a text prepared for a workshop organized by the International Iqbal Society, Azad develops Iqbal's distinction between the efficient and appreciative aspects of the self. He presents the appreciative self as an active discipline of attention and inward development, and relates it to meditation, breath regulation, neuroplasticity, bioelectric organization and contemporary discussions of consciousness.[2]
- This revision removes the unsourced four-part list of animal classes and avoids presenting interpretive claims as established scientific fact. The wording attributes the ideas to Azad and describes the contents of his published workshop text rather than asserting their correctness. OptimisticOtis (talk) 13:09, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
