Is this information correct???

I know it is from Britannica, but I just visited Idalion (sic) and the information I have is that it dates from considerably earlier than this. See

Rename to Idalion?

I reversed the order (Greek first) in the lede, and all the sources we quote or cite use "Idalion". I presume "Idalium" is the Latin version, but is there any reason for the article to be named that? Thanks, Pete Tillman (talk) 20:47, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Yes, it should be moved to Idalion, over the redirect. Maybe when I'm feeling less lazy. :-) Ploversegg (talk) 16:25, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

Ohnefalsch-Richter

"The first to attempt to make a coherent history from finds at Dhali was Max Ohnefalsch-Richter, a journalist and self taught archaeologist who later became Director of Antiquities. Idalium → Idalion – As suggested above in 2015. "Idalium" is the Latin version that appears in old sources (mostly more than 80 years old), the common name in recent sources is definitely "Idalion". It is also the only name used in other article names: Idalion Tablet, Idalion bilingual, Idalion Temple inscriptions and even South Nicosia-Idalion פעמי-עליון (pʿmy-ʿlywn) - talk 11:04, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Support - From a quick look it seems like sources mostly use Idalion DervotNum4 (talk) 16:26, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
