A sourced statement at Kaʻiana says a captain William Douglas named this area Tianna's Bay, after Kaʻiana (different anglicization). However, this article says the bay was formed in the last 100 years; the naming after Kaʻiana would have occurred in the late 18th century. I was going to add something about the alternate name, using the same source, but now I'm not sure. --BDD (talk) 14:51, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
