Why "the iPad" and not just "iPad"?
Dropping the definite article is a marketing technique used by Apple. Unless such terminology is used by a majority of our reliable, secondary sources, our style guidelines require that we use the normal rules of English grammar to refer to subjects, and that requires the use of the definite article when using synecdoche to refer to one subject as if it were the whole group (the iPad and not iPads).
I have questions, comments, or issues about my iPad.
