Proposed merge of Hop Fastpass into INIT SE

This should be directed to INIT SE or TriMet. It is a local implementation of INIT's payment system and I feel having a stand alone page for this local implementation falls short of WP:NPRODUCT Graywalls (talk) 16:47, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose – This would be akin to merging every large police department into Ford Explorer because they commonly use that model of car. Each fare card system has its own history and unique characteristics that would bloat any sort of combined page. Similarly, since Hop serves more than just the TriMet system, readers would expect the same information to be at C-Tran (Washington), thus creating unnecessary duplication. - Strong oppose: Most transit cards have their own articles. See MetroCard, Clipper Card, Oyster card, Kitaca, ORCA card, etc. Portland is a major metropolitan area with an expansive transit network. –DMartin 21:52, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose — INIT is a vendor that supplies fare collection systems to various transit agencies. For example, the HOLO card in Honolulu operates on the same technology as Hop Fastpass because the City and County of Honolulu contracted INIT to build the HOLO card system. As mentioned above, consolidating every INIT-supplied smart card into the INIT SE article simply because they all share the same system architecture or hardware makes no sense when each individual smart card system has its own history and reason for existing.
