Why is it called Hyrox?

- Someone kept removing what Hyrox stands for, saying that the sources given are unreliable. It seems that what it means is unclear (Moritz Fuerste himself won't say), but it was originally called Curox and had to change its name due to legal issues - . That can be added. - The "ROX" portion of the name is short for "rockstar". Because they were sponsored by Red Bull, and Rockstar Energy is a competing brand, they weren't allowed to use the full word. So they settled on Curox/Qurox (incorporating part of a Latin word), and then Hyrox (possibly referencing the word "hybrid", since it's hybrid training). ~2026-50294-08 (talk) 16:38, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
- I don't think they were sponsored by Redbull when they were called Curox, so the idea that they had to use "rox" because of Rockstar Energy being a competing brand is fanciful. The article linked also gives another reason for using "Hy", and Mortiz Fuerste himself dismissed the idea that Hyrox means "hybrid rockstar" - . Hzh (talk) 21:39, 17 September 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Unverified user (I think) added a big ol chart of "past results" with no sources. I don't have the time or the knowledge to confirm/deny its veracity nor to track down sources for it - so I don't want to revert their addition nor am I qualified to edit or revert it (w/o doing a bunch of research I don't have time for this month). Flagging it here for other editors to ponder.
- It can be deleted. It's something that will balloon into a monster list and distort the article. Either have a separate list article with clear sources or not have it at all. Hzh (talk) 15:04, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
Can someone correctly rewrite this sentence in the lead

Is "hyrox" a sport or a company?
[edit]The article treats hyrox at times as a sport (or a particular combination of sporting activities, like the decathlon), and at other times as a company run by a person and capable of making statements. Which is it? One would never say "association football issued a statement acknowledging ..."; one could say "the Premier League issued a statement acknowledging ...", or "U.S. Soccer issued a statement acknowledging ...".
