Hydroxyethyl

Hydroxyethyl redirects to ethanol. Should it not redirect to Hydroxyethyl starch? Greswik (talk) 13:05, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Neutrality of reference unclear

This reference has two problems for English Wikipedia. First it is in German. Secondarily and more potentially important it appears to self refer to work by one of its authors, Boldt J who has had one paper retracted on HES due to both ethical problems and inability to relate the raw data to that actually published and many others retracted due to ethical problems. This reference should be deleted. As already Said ist references non Peer reviewed Data. One Author Joachim Boldt has been Fired from his Hospital due to fraud. 88 of his Papers have been retracted as no ethics Approval.Furthermore, the Autors of visep hav Published a Debütalbum to this, also in German, which is Not Cited. Safety info comparison

[edit]

Maybe interesting for incorporating safety info into the article: Wiedermann, Christian J, and Klaus Eisendle. "Comparison of Hydroxyethyl Starch Regulatory Summaries From the Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency." Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice 10, no. 1 (2017): doi:10.1186/s40545-016-0090-6 (For instance, should liver also be mentioned?) Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 19:01, 30 July 2017 (UTC) Hi all, there are some new developments The regulators PRAC of EMA want to ban HES in the EU. This is quite importanthttp://www.ema.europa.eu/ema/index.jsp?curl=pages/news_and_events/news/2018/01/news_detail_002882.jsp&mid=WC0b01ac058004d5c1. see link. however I was not able to place it in the article, excuse my ignorance  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:DE:2BDE:D869:79C0:F769:C883:8E86 (talk) 13:21, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Merge from Hydroxyethyl starch-induced pruritus

[edit]

Since that stub only had basically one line of information, I boldly merged most of the sources into a new section in this article and expanded upon the one line. I don't believe that there is anywhere near enough information on the side effect to merit its own page, even though it is likely notable independently. Furthermore, I think the information about it, such as the cumulative dose being important, is best in the context that the rest of the information on this page provides, per WP:NOPAGE.

I believe I got all the merge steps done right, if I missed anything or messed something up apologies in advance - I don't frequently do merges but User:WhatamIdoing suggested (correctly) that at least some of the references from that page could be used to expand this one, so I attempted to do so. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez | me | talk to me! 16:54, 16 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
