The name "Stig Hvitaledr" in this article is interpreted as it in modern Danish would be "Stig Hvide-Leder", which indeed means "leader of the Hvide". However, in modern Danish history books it is interpreted as "Stig Hvidelæder", literally "white leather" which should refer to a pale
