Association Football usage

[edit]

The term is used pretty widely in association football as well, mostly in relation to a pass to a teammate where 1) the teammate is static or moving slowly and presumably not expecting the ball 2) is quite close proximity to the passing teammate (so doesn't have much opportunity to react, especially to starting moving towards the ball), 3) has an opponent in near proximity and 4) the ball is played to the feet of the player, rather than into space or where the player is running. As with the other examples, you end up with a player that is more or less immobilized by their teammates choice of play and with an opponent charging at them. --109.153.212.104 (talk) 22:17, 27 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
