Orthogonal polynomials

[edit]

The page states that "classical orthogonal polynomials" are holonomic functions, which is a trivial statement because all polynomials are holonomic functions. I suppose something else must really have been meant, perhaps that the generating functions for these sequences of polynomials are holonomic in some appropriate sense?
