Wendy Carlos

Hocketing was an integral feature of electronic musician Wendy Carlos's arrangement style. She used it extensively, and in fascinating ways, throughout her works for decades. You can hear her discussing this on her album "Secrets of Synthesis" (track 7: "Electronic Pointillism & Hocketing"). Perhaps someone else can elaborate and adjust the article for us. I took the trouble to write a critique of this article. Apparently, it has been suppressed. The "editors" may, of course, do whatever they want with whatever they want. Ha ha. You never wrote a critique of this article. You wrote a useless paragraph showing off your pedantry and self-satisfaction with your own style. You said absolutely zilch about the topic of this article, which you probably never even "took the trouble" to read. Listening examples

The article seems well explained but there's no substitute for listening. I am wary of going off and listening to random things that "might" be hocket. What is a hocket?

Is this a sentence?

Assessment

The article should spend a little more time defining the technique with clear examples. Surely there must be a better musical example to use. The sourcing is thin for such an important technique.Trumpetrep (talk) 19:37, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
