Title
[edit]As per the developer's website and the official announcement trailer as well as other official channels, the proper name of this game is Hitman 3; it's merely stylized as Hitman III in marketing materials. -JFWillson (talk) 13:24, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, I thought this, too. I filed a case with WP:RMT. Regards, IceWelder [✉] 13:38, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
Controversy controversy
[edit]There were/are issues with the transfer of previously purchased levels and the transfer of progress. That may have caused a stir, covered by reliable sources, however that's not a controversy. Now if someone disagrees with my edit to rename that section and that becomes a prolonged and public disagreement with lots of edit warring... that would be a controversy ;-) In this case there's no public disagreement between opposing factions. Just IOI not being particularly clever about things. PizzaMan ♨♨♨ 22:11, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
internet required or not ?
[edit]In new games, especially this, this information is important and should be added generally to all games. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.91.211.93 (talk) 17:02, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2
[edit]What will happen to their respective articles?
They will both be retroactively considered parts of a single game in January 26. 80.60.107.130 (talk) 22:24, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- Considering the scale of those two, the content should either be left up independently or very carefully folded into this article. Hitman 2016, in particular, has a rather large article. ASpacemanFalls (talk) 11:06, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- They won't be folded into this article. They used to be separate games, and IO's recent move to combine all three games doesn't change that. OceanHok (talk) 15:53, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Article and headline name
[edit]With the announcement that the game is to be renamed Hitman: World of Assassination, what name should the article use? I personally am in favor of keeping the name as Hitman 3 and having the headline be something like "Hitman 3 (later re-titled Hitman: World of Assassination)..." similar to the articles for the first three Star Wars movies. PolarManne (talk) 18:31, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
GOCE copy edit
[edit]I have a few comments:
- Review MOS:SAID. The article also tended to use "adding that" a lot, including in instances of a non sequiturs.
- I recommend cutting the summary of reviews in the "Critical reception" section. Keep only the key parts of reviews or condense.
- Many of the quotes can be paraphrased or significantly cut down.
- After all of that, this should probably be copy edited again.

I'll begin a read through shortly. ♦ jaguar 14:45, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
I don't do this often, but I am compelled to give this an outright pass. It is well-written, comprehensive and simply put, presents itself as a fully-fledged good article. It is well referenced and all the sources check out from what I can see. You might consider nominating this at FAC. I've made a couple of minor adjustments too - feel free to check over. Well done, as usual a sterling article from you!

- Clear consensus, not merged. Lflin16 - :) (talk)
I propose merging this, Hitman (2016 video game) and Hitman 2 (2018 video game) into HITMAN World of Assassination.
[edit]All three of these games are released together as World of Assassination now and are considered parts of it rather than separate games. We can have three sections corresponding to each individual game in the article, along with information about World of Assassination as a whole.Vesperius (talk) 15:30, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
- Every game is notable on its own. All were releases multiple years apart, with different development cycles, different receptions, etc. Just because the third game happens to include all levels from the prior games does not mean we need to make one gargantuan article with the content of all three. IceWelder [✉] 15:58, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
- Strongest possible oppose. IceWelder put it best. These are separate, independently notable games. Following publisher revisionism of trying to consider all of these games as one thing is ridiculous. I'm surprised this is even a proposal. What policies is this even based on? λ NegativeMP1 01:41, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose Being a part of a set does not mean that there cannot be multiple articles for that set, especially when the set was retroactively created. It would be akin to saying "KINGDOM HEARTS All-In-One Package" is a single game and the entire series should exist in it. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 15:02, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose: I would not oppose to a separate article about World of Assassination where we can discuss broad gameplay as well as additional modes like Freelancer and the upcoming co-op mode, but merging all three together is not the way per the reasons suggested above. OceanHok (talk) 15:21, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Second this, as long as World of Assassination sub-series as a whole is notable enough to warrant its on article ThePoggingEditor (talk) 18:05, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose: All of these games existed standalone at some point, I'm fairly sure you can even still purchase the individual games. Additionally, World of Assassination added or improved certain content to the 3 games I believe. Lflin16 - :) (talk) 04:05, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Vesperius Oppose: The core of Hitman WoA is still Hitman 3, not a newly released title ala Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Pdhadam (talk) 03:16, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose - although I am in favor of a standalone article about World of Assassination as mentioned above. OrbitalVoid49 (talk) 14:11, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
@Vesperius: I would strongly recommend that you try making an article on World of Assassination though. I'd be willing to help out if needed, and you can use this tool to find sources. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 09:55, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Is WOA, outside of the three games and the series, even that notable? This should be a subsection at the series at most. IceWelder [✉] 14:29, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- WOA is very popular in the modern day, it's the game that most people buy. Lflin16 - :) (talk) 20:40, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- By "the game", you mean this game, which is being marketed under the WOA name. IceWelder [✉] 20:43, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- WOA comprises of three games if I'm not mistaken? Lflin16 - :) (talk) 20:47, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hitman 3 contains the levels of Hitman 2 and Hitman 1, just like Hitman 2 contains (via DLC) the levels of Hitman 1. Because WOA is a trilogy, and Hitman 3 now contains all levels of the trilogy by default, the WOA name has been adopted for Hitman 3 in marketing. IceWelder [✉] 20:50, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- I see, thanks for explaining. Lflin16 - :) (talk) 20:51, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

- WOA is a rebranding of this game. I don't know why WOA being a separate article is even an idea... λ NegativeMP1 20:46, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
