[edit]Should this page be expanded to describe all of HHG, or should it be re-titled to "High Harmonic Generation in Gases"?
I think the title is fine as it is, given in journal publications the same distinction is not made due to the prevalence of gas jets over sold targets as the active medium. Dtlloyd (talk) 14:29, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- In my opinion that is not o.k., i.e. either the title should be expanded to describe all HHG, or it should be re-titled. Of course most of the high-order harmonics are generated in gases, but the most intense ones are generated during the interaction with dense plasma surfaces (see review article Teubner& Gibbin in RMP (https://journals.aps.org/rmp/abstract/10.1103/RevModPhys.81.445). And there has been progress in high-order harmonic generation from laser-ablated plumes as well. In total, the article should include related physics as well or the titel should be changed.
