Hetchin and Hetchins in the text

Going by the "name on the frame" it should be Hetchins, but both variations are common; so common, in fact, that this article carries both. Did father and son perhaps spell the name differently? --Old Moonraker (talk) 18:38, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

It seems that Hyman was definitely "Hetchin", as it's unlikely that he made out his patent application wrongly. I'll come back to this, unless someone gets in first. --Old Moonraker (talk) 11:04, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Alf was born 'Alfred Hetchin' (towards the end of 1923). An advertisement in 1936 and the script version of the downtube transfer clearly say "Hetchin's" 86.181.117.134 (talk) 15:13, 20 May 2012 (UTC).

Just to clarify: the family name is "Hetchin". The company's name was simply the possessive form of that, i.e., "Hetchin's", apostrophe included. So when speaking of Hyman or Alfred, the name is "Hetchin", and when speaking of the company or its products, "Hetchin's". I will correct the title of the article to conform to this. Alf's death

The source for this is a copy of 'Cycling Weekly' I noticed on eBay, viz: 'This is Cycling Weekly magazine for 13 July 1996 the cover story is the bid for glory by Bjarne Riis in the Tour de France. Includes 8 page Tour Picture Special, superb reporting and images, detailed coverage. Also, there is a short obituary and image of famous frame builder Alf Hetchin'
