There do seem to be sources for the main statements in the article. For example, the York Herald of 16 December 1895 states that "Mr. H. Keyworth Raine (son of the Rev. Canon Rame) has been honoured with a commission from her Royal Highness Princess Louise to paint her portrait immediately at Kensington Palace." Whether all the stories were independent of Raine is another matter. According to The Graphic on 26 March 1921, "MR. H. Keyworth Raine, who is showing some remarkable pictures at his studio in Hanover Square, abandoned his original profession of an engineer so far back as 1897, when he began the study of portraiture". {{third-party}} may apply to most of the material.
