General Talk

[edit]

Removed the stub class, because considering the beefing up of the article, does it really need to be called a stub any more? More information, more citations...seems done! As a stub I mean.

Also, English subtitles added to the audio! Combined the sheet music lyrics and repeatedly listened to any deviations by Arthur. The sheet music has 99% of the lyrics in the cylinder recording, he changes it a few times.

The Simpsons

[edit]

The song appears in an episode of the Simpsons, where Homer, Moe, Barney and a fourth one form a Barbershop-Quartet. --91.38.185.37 (talk) 01:43, 5 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

You mean "Homer's Barbershop Quartet", Season 5 Episode 82: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homer's_Barbershop_Quartet
The best of it clip I could find was here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_EKdhBFNh8

Don't forget about chestburster scene in "Space Balls" :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.21.29.237 (talk) 12:17, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

All of this is moot if you don't have a secondary source. - NewkirkPlaza (talk) 16:37, 13 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Influence

[edit]

I have removed the section Influence. It has turned into a list not in keeping with MOS:TRIVIA or MOS:POPCULT / MOS:CULTURALREFS. Even the well-known WP linked pieces (Ives, Debussy) do not confirm claims. The section should require each entry to have a reliable source for verification. The template (which I initially placed) at the top of the section is meaningless unless editors create a section that other editors, wishing to contribute content, can see what is required. I have brought the listings here for anyone wishing to reinstate the section with reliable sources cited. Thanks.
