why HAZ is weaker in weld joint???

More information, please

[edit]

The article mentions property changes but, although it says that magnitudes and sizes of area may vary, doesn't say what properties are change or, more interestingly, what the changes mean and how they matter.

In the diagram there's a band of colouration that clearly demarcates the boundary of the HAZ. It would be interesting to know more about the whats and whys of that. In particular, are the properties of this region different from the rest, and is the HAZ considered to extend to the furthest colour change? 78.144.76.100 (talk) 13:38, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

The diagram and photograph have recently been removed, with no reason being given. No copyright issues appear to have been raised.

I grant that they could be improved upon, but they were much better than nothing!

Can anyone explain, please? I am happy to work on this to fill-out the article and provide some more diagrams/photos. . .John M Brear (talk) 15:50, 22 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
