[edit]Station building and head house are not quite synonymous -- station building describes the function, while head house describes the form. In the context of terminal railroad stations, they are largely synonymous, but head house has some other meanings. It is also rarely if ever used to describe a station building with through-tracks rather than stub tracks. "Open-sided"
[edit]What does "open-sided" even mean in the opening sentence? It doesn't seem relevant whether the attached shed is "open" or "closed" as it relates to a head house. A head house is simply the part of a station attached to the shed and which includes a mix of uses. Criticalthinker (talk) 04:05, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
