Geographic scope
[edit]This article as it stands is very much US-centric. I don't know whether the term "hawsepiper" is peculiar to US English, but it seems to me that similar career paths must be known in other countries. The parenthetical "(or foreign equivalent)" remark supports this, and is also the worst offender in the article—even if "hawsepiper" is American, the reader is likely not and so relative adjectives like "foreign" are not appropriate. I would ask anyone familiar with the subject to either 1) generalise this information to include other countries, or 2) state at the outset that the term/concept is primarily, if not exclusively, of US origin, and replace words like "foreign" with "outside the US" or similar. -- Perey 01:57, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
I definately see your point, although I don't know if the term is used outside the United States. You're right, though, "foreign" shouldn't be used like that. -Pesco 12:36, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
