Well maintained?

Are most havelis well maintained by their families, or are most of them just watched over by a watchman? I removed the sentence claiming that they were well-maintained, as it disagrees with another claim in the article, but if anyone has more accurate information, please correct the article. --Slashme 11:32, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
