- ... that American football player Harry Leons had "no chance" of ever becoming his team's starting quarterback?
~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 17:34, 24 April 2026 (UTC).
- I'll review this by Thursday (can't guarantee an earlier time since I'm studying for finals). ミラP@Miraclepine 04:01, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
| General: Article is new enough and long enough |

Policy compliance:
- Adequate sourcing:
- Only issue is that the number of passes - completed or attempted - and yards are not supported by ref 17. - Neutral:

- Free of copyright violations, plagiarism, and close paraphrasing:

Hook eligibility:
- Cited:

- Interesting:
- I'm pretty sure DYKINT would require a negation to be juxtaposed in this case.

Overall:
Created on nom day (on top of becoming a GA a few days later), size 6723 B. Earwig found two sources with 59.2 and 16.0, but they're mostly quotes, proper names or WP:LIMITED. I provided an ALT1 per above.
- ALT1: ... that Harry Leons had "no chance" of ever becoming his football team's starting quarterback, only to later serve for two seasons? Source: Same as ALT0 + But Leons became a big part of Eastern’s plan as a sophomore in 1995, when a midseason injury to Brian Sherrick thrust him prematurely into the role of the Eagles’ starting quarterback. + Kramer said Leons’ injury will be evaluated further this week, but he appeared to be holding out little hope of the junior starter returning this fall.
@WikiOriginal-9: What do you think? And please address the V issue I brought up. ミラP@Miraclepine 20:45, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
- Changed the source. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 21:32, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
- That looks good. It was three seasons though. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 21:35, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9: Source change looks good, but the quote says "the Eagles’ senior quarterback quietly threw for 2,588 yards and 21 touchdowns with only five interceptions" as though senior means his college grade, and the article doesn't say he was starting QB in senior year. Is there a source that he was starting quarterback during senior year? We can just run this with just saying it was two seasons he was starting QB. ミラP@Miraclepine 04:06, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- That source checks out. However, it has to be added to the article to count for this ALT2 to be valid.
ALT2: ... that Harry Leons had "no chance" of ever becoming his football team's starting quarterback, only to later serve for three seasons? Source: Same as ALT1 + A game article summary that says "Harry Leons earns the starting quarterback job at Eastern Washington through determination"
- Now, it seems difficult to tell from there if the job stuck in the 1997 season, but it's a game article summary from that season and the hallmarks of a starting QB are there for that season. ミラP@Miraclepine 13:25, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9: forgot to ping. ミラP@Miraclepine 13:25, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- Added the source. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 14:21, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9: Honestly, considering "starting quarterback" is not in the sentence with that ref, on self-reflection I feel that "three seasons" would be easily challenged given the occasional third opinion often insists on more direct sourcing (cf. Template:Did you know nominations/Robert Dalzell (British Army officer, born 1662)) - mind you it's a bit stricter than V - so how about this third way:
- ALT3: ... that Harry Leons had "no chance" of ever becoming his football team's starting quarterback, only to later serve for multiple seasons? Source: Same as ALT1 or ALT2, give or take.
- ミラP@Miraclepine 15:57, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- That will work. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 16:03, 23 May 2026 (UTC)

1997 NCAA Division I-AA Semifinal
– is "Semifinal" supposed to be capitalized? (I'm not sure, just thought I'd ask)- Not sure. I just capped it since it was like that at 1997 Eastern Washington Eagles football team. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 18:51, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

- I didn't know Burger King selected All-Americans!
- All-America can link to All-America college football team (same thing in college section).
- No issue if the answer is no, but is there nothing else you could find about him in high school?
- I couldn't figure out what the third sport he played is... ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 19:18, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

he had lost 30 pounds
– use {convert}Head coach Mike Kramer said "The first time I saw him in person
– comma after "said"to walk on to the basketball team
– perhaps link their basketball team.Kramer later said "He was so far
– comma after said, same withwith Kramer stating "There was no chance
(comma after "stating").Leons went undrafted in the 1998 NFL draft.
– unselectedIn March 2000, Leons was selected by the Los Angeles Avengers in the 12th round, with the 25th overall pick, of the 2000 AFL expansion draft.[18] Leons beat out Justin Vedder for the team's third-string quarterback job behind starter Scott Semptimphelter and backup Todd Marinovich.[19][20] Leons did not end up appearing in any games during the 2000 AFL season.
– three straight sentences starting with "Leons". The middle one could probably start "he".- Nice work. Spot check pending. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:40, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
