Effective?
[edit]Assuming that the magnets do stay in the cow, they wouldn't attract any non-magnetic materials. Further, any magnetic materials they attract would become a large, potentially sharp mass resting in the cows stomach. Wouldn't this mass pose any irritation and puncture hazard to the animal? My exposure to farm life is somewhat limited, but wouldn't a better idea be to keep metal out of the feed and fields? Jarod (talk) 14:26, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Cow Magnets as a Scientific Curiosity
[edit]I see that there is a passing mention that cow magnets are available at scientific supply stores. This is because of a unique buzzing noise that occurs when they are thrown and allowed to collide in the air; the buzzing rises in pitch until it stops. This has been explored in depth in a few scientific papers and videos that show how this overlaps into magnetic dipole behavior, sound generation, and harmonic oscillations, but I'm unsure if it's even relevant enough if I can't properly tie it all together.
