The use of the term "hard copy" in the statement below is not industry-standard, and so I think that the statement should not be included in the article.

In semiconductor electronics, an ASIC hard copy can be made of an FPGA.

Altera uses the registered trademark HardCopy to refer to its structured ASICs, as one can read through the article's HardCopy external link. The article's description of the technique needs to be verified for accuracy.

The paragraphs about Altera HardCopy and Xilinx EasyPath are copied substantially from the article Application-specific integrated circuit. Merely mentioning the Altera product and referencing the proper section of the source article might be better.

hard copy

A printed-on-paper version of data. In the absence of a hard-copy, such data is visualized via a computer screen (a CRT or LCD or Active-matrix organic light-emitting diode or …). The colloquial term is used mostly in a business sense, such as with spreadsheets, forms, or invoices.
