Huh?

[edit]

"A remake of Halo: Combat Evolved was first reported to be in development in June 2024 by The Verge, which additionally speculated that the game would target a multiplatform release amidst Microsoft Gaming's newly announced shift to agnostic games publishing that year."

What does this mean? (Yes I know what agnostic means, but in relation to the game) ~2026-14690-17 (talk) 01:09, 8 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

They mean "platform agnostic", which is a term, but is definitely not all that clear. I've adjusted it. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 13:21, 9 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Fan backlash

[edit]

There is significant fan backlash on the community in response tl the remake.

Reasons listed: - Publisher history and collapse in trust. Halo Studios has implemented multiple decisions controversial within the Halo fanbase such as sprint and tonal changes in Halo 4 and 5. Allegations put forward by Glenn Israel and history of mismanagement also cited as reasons.

- Ideological. Many fans cite “wokeness” as a reason however general consensus among hardcore fans cite Campaign Evolved as an attempt to lower standards due to previously cited history of mismanagement and controversial decisions in particular Halo Infinite's launch. Additional ideological reasons for backlash include general backlash towards practices commonly witnessed in newer games such as excessive monetization and reduction of features. ~2026-37305-93 (talk) 11:29, 28 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

If there aren't reliable sources demonstrating this is a significant backlash, it doesn't get included. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 11:00, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Prequel missions plot

[edit]

@David Fuchs shouldn't there be a "Plot" section on the prequel missions, since they are new story content? Or should it be left as is? The 🏎 Corvette 🏍 ZR1(The Garage) 16:14, 24 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'm of two minds about it. On one hand, it's new plot content and it could be covered. On the other, there's not a ton of actual plot in there, it can be condensed down to a couple of sentences, and the reviews don't really go into it further that the context is helpful (it's basically treated as a 'okay to have' thing, and it seems there's more time spent on the mechanics of what changed in the original's story than the new missions.) We're also not covering the plot or setting of the base game in depth, so it feels odd to only mention the side mission story. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 18:02, 24 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
