Really worth a dime?

The article mentions how the coin is similar in worth to the current dime. How true is that though? I've heard plenty of stories (accurate ones) of items like a whole pizza costing 5 to 10 cents. That's 10 to 20 half-cent coins. You certainly can not buy a pizza for $1-2. So is it really similar in worth to a dime? Not sure I agree with that. Seems more like the worth in the range of $0.50-$1 than anything else.

Even low grade specimens for relatively common half cents are worth around $25 or more. MatthewM (talk) 22:04, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Half cent (United States coin) → Half cent – The basename half cent has redirected here for about 20 years, indicating this is the primary topic for the base name, so the article should exist there per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. The other topics are already disambiguated via a hatnote, and the United States coin receives about 100 times the page views as half-cent coin (Netherlands) and was minted earlier. This case was mentioned by Mathguy2718 at Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2026_April_12#Timeline_of_X as an example where this WP:MISPLACED status quo is advantageous, but I disagree. The only other option would be to create a disambiguation page at the base name; the status quo is as if we can't decide whether there is a primary topic or not...so let's decide.
