Name

Now the official name is H3 Launch Vehicle. Note that it uses Arabic instead of Roman numeral, with no hyphen. Fukumoto (talk) 13:34, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

First launch

Let's add launch statistics bar charts (for just the H3 )

Official naming

Do you mean you consider now that the official name may be in the text if the text is worded adequately, in contrast to the previous your thought that the official designation must not in the text due to WP:COMMONNAME? If it is the case, my opinion is that the official designation should be somewhere in the article text, and I agree that the wording is suboptimal and open to suggestion for better expression. One possibility is "The H3 Launch Vehicle is an expendable launch system in development in Japan.", which was original starting line of this article. --Fukumoto (talk) 14:36, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

The decision to describe it as a "medium-lift launch vehicle" was intentional, since "medium-lift" is a internationally recognized classification that identifies the vehicle's payload class. In my view, that conveys more useful information in the lead than describing it as "expendable," which applies to the vast majority of rockets. Also, stating that it is "in development" is no longer accurate, as the H3 has been conducting launches since 2023. RickyCourtney (talk) 23:43, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
