While I was making my list of statuses of letter-number articles, somebody moved H1 to H1 (disambiguation) apparently while I was somewhere in the N-Z section. Why?? Georgia guy 21:22, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- It was moved so that it might be obvious which pages need to have their links fixed - if the link is to H1, then it may need fixing, if it's to H1 (disambiguation), then it probably won't. – ABCD 21:36, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- That was either muddled, or misuse of the suffix. A Dab page may have "(disambiguation)" in its title only where there is a primary topic "using" the unsuffixed title, e.g. Captain America (disambiguation), since anyone seeking our Captain America article almost certainly is after the comic-book character, not, say, the WWII film serial. (But where there is no clear-cut primary topic, and thus "equal" dab'n is used, the corresponding "... (disambiguation)" title is either a Rdr to the Dab, or reserved for that purpose; use of the long title does demonstrate that the editor intends to send the user to the Dab page, and thus that bypassing of the Dab is undesirable -- but not bcz "it probably won't" need bypassing (say bcz there's no article on the intended topic yet, but bcz there is no intended topic to write an intended article on. For instance, use Aurora (disambiguation) (probably piped to conceal the suffix from the reader), when drawing the reader's attention to the variety of terms named after the dawn goddess; editors will then see the suffix, and not bother trying to identify a likely specific sense of "Aurora" or "aurora".
