gur, a unit of mesurment in the Arab world c 2000 BC. A 'seagoing boat' of 300 gur is mentioned in a document of 2000 BC; see A. Oppenheim The Seafaring Merchants of Ur. (Journal of the American Oriental Society 74, 1954, 6-17, especially 8 note 8.
