General Notes

This page still needs a lot of work, I agree with the below post that it is very awkward and not well layed out in terms of content. Perhaps having the lists of groupsets from different manufacturers in tables? Any other suggestions? If there are none I'll have a go arranging this differently at some point. I think this page is a litle akward right now. I though I would post here first before hacking away though.

First of all, a component group may be better explained as only the parts that make up a groupset than those that don't. Currently the 2nd sentence of the intro paragraph really needs to be changed from:

"It generally refers to all of the components that make up a bicycle excluding the bicycle frame, fork, stem, wheels, tires, and rider contact points, such as the saddle and handlebars."

to:

"It generally refers to all of the components that make up a bicycle excluding the bicycle frame, fork, stem, wheels, tires tubes, accessories, and rider contact points, such as the saddle and handlebars/handlebar tape (although a groupset can include pedals)"

Which is only a few components less than the parts which do make up a gruppo!

Also there is no mention of pedals which are generally considered as part of a component group (although not always included).

I think the best way is to say what parts are in groupsets as specified by the manufactureers, ie the Campagnolo Record groupset is simply all the parts in the Campagnolo Record catalogue, and leave out what retailers sell as groupsets or what people buy as an upgrade because it varies, some will include hubs, some don't etc. I have made some edits to show this, LDHan 18:22, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
