Timely clearing?

The article states "PBXs work best on ground start trunks because those trunks can give them an on hook signal allowing for timely clearing". Why does ground start provide more timely clearing than loop start? Is this an issue with disconnect supervision? --Brouhaha (talk) 05:52, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Clearing Sequence

The sentence that says the central office removes the short doesn't make sense, as it was the PBX that applied it in the first place. Also one can attempt to clear form either side and it is not clear which case applies here. Without any sources, I'm reluctant to try and fix this. David Woolley (talk) 17:55, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Start Sequence

The start sequence the article describes doesn't seem possible. It says that the PBX shorts the pair together and grounds it to seize the line. But then it says that the PBX senses a voltage difference across the pair before it releases the ground start. The problem is, if the PBX has the pair shorted then no voltage difference can exist across it for the PBX to sense and thus the PBX would never release the ground start. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.59.100.223 (talk) 03:02, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
