Apparently not the current name, but I don't know enough about how to proceed here

[edit]

I was about to update this article to use {{Speciesbox}} instead of {{Taxobox}}, but in the course of looking up this name in other sources, I discovered that IRMNG says it is "unaccepted", and the current name is "Ophiostoma". So, my plan was to replace this page with a redirect to the article for Ophiostoma, using an appropriate {{rcat}} and such, and citing IRMNG. However, I then discovered that Index Fungorum says that its current name is "Ceratocystis" (which also has its own page here, distinct from both this page and the page for Ophiostoma). I'm no biologist or taxonomist or anything even remotely close, so I don't know how these seemingly contradictory claims should be evaluated, nor how Wikipedia should be updated based upon the results of that evaluation. However, I figure I should at least add this note here in the hopes that someone who knows better might see it. - Rwv37 (talk) 23:54, 11 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
