Yeah, I don’t understand it either. Why is this called the ”green monkey”? No animals have green or blue fur. Cats are called ”blue” when they’re actually grey. But why is this one called green? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bossk-Office (talk • contribs) 17:41, 27 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

It supposedly has a green sheen to its fur when examined up close.

Interactions with humans - mentions that vervets in general common for testing, PDF above mentioned monkey meat was available in a village for sale

- More info on reason for introduction? Pets, extra food?
- More detailed description of appearance - not as green as name indicates, only a slight hint.

Should we include a footnote to Green Monkey disease, the disease widely believed in some circles to be have been the virus that mutated into HIV?
