Quartz is not ONE thing - it has different forms
[edit]Quartz exists in two forms, the normal α-quartz and the high-temperature β-quartz, both of which are chiral. No mention of which kind is found in granite - the α-quartz is the more common. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.243.106.82 (talk) 20:09, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
- The transition from alpha to beta quartz is conformational only; no bonds are broken. As a result, the transition is never supercooled. Beta-quartz always transforms to alpha-quartz below the transition temperature, so quartz in any rock at room temperature is always alpha-quartz. I don't see a need to discuss this in this article. --Kent G. Budge (talk) 02:08, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah quartz exists in amethyst and a lot of others. 😀 ~2026-12541-85 (talk) 13:41, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Please add 😀
[edit]Excuse me I think you should add the fact that granite can be used as countertops. Thanks. 😊 ~2026-12541-85 (talk) 13:47, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
