Ardenne or Ardennes?

Why is it Ardenne rather than Ardennes in this and other articles about France?--DThomsen8 (talk) 15:37, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

As already mentioned, that's how the name is spelled in French. Also the ACAL name is just the names of the three former regions hyphenated in alphabetical order and the former region is Champagne-Ardenne. AHeneen (talk) 14:20, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

German name and pronunciation

On the German Wikipedia, this region is called "Großer Osten", so just, "Great East". But on the English Wikipedia, it's called "der Große Osten", so, "the Great East". Which one is correct?

Also, the English Wikipedia currently says that "Große" is pronounced [ˈɡʁoːsɐ], which is incorrect. That pronunciation is for the word "Großer".

For "Große", the final vowel should be [ə]. Thus, [ˈɡʁoːsə]. --Infinitum11 (talk) 06:07, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Hyphens?

It is said in the article that "The provisional name of the region was Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine, formed by combining the names of the three former regions—Alsace, Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine—in alphabetical order with hyphens."

But the official logo in the article says "Alsace Champagne-Ardenne Lorraine". On the Grand Est site, the names are presented on three rows, unhyphenated.

So, was it

• Alsace Champagne-Ardenne Lorraine (with spaces, as in the logo), or
• Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine (with hyphens overall), as claimed), or
• Alsace–Champagne-Ardenne–Lorraine (with endashes, except for between Champagne and Ardenne)?

Does Grand Est have a flag?

Can you provide a reliable source that states that Grand Est adopted this flag? If they didn't officially adopt a flag, our article shouldn't include one. The "flag" currently in the infobox is more like a logo. Joe vom Titan (talk) 19:42, 21 July 2026 (UTC)

@Joe vom Titan: per the file description page (and CRWFlags), the flag just appears to be the logo on a blue field, and photos of it can be seen here and here. However, I'm unsure if the use is unofficial, as I have been unable to find any regional law confirming it. HapHaxion _{(talk / contribs)} 13:31, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
