[edit]
Sometimes "the Government House" is used instead of "Government House". In the latter instance "Government House" is a proper noun whereas in the former instance the operative word is "House" (ie, the House of the Government).

I recognise that this statement as it is, is probably correct. Apart from the HK Govt House Wikipedia page, can someone bring up an external source to back up this usage? The HK Government websites on Govt House do not use the definite article. It is misleading to put up a statement about variants of the word if they are little used.

Perhaps this (http://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/legal_library/nz/legal_library_1998-09-21_1998-62.html) will help:
THE MISUSE OF DRUGS REGULATIONS 1977, AMENDMENT NO. 7
DAVID BEATTIE, Governor-General
ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 5th day of September 1983
Granted, its only a single (albeit official) instance. But at least its not made up...

Lists of govt houses

[edit]

I noticed that the list of govt houses for Australia was turned into a redirect and yet the list for Canada is still there. Was there any discussion regarding the Australian list and why it was inappropriate? Why is the Canadian one any more appropriate? Ozdaren 07:27, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation page?

[edit]

Should this be a disambiguation page, or a list? Certainly many of the incoming links need to be disambiguated, but many of the entries have information that wouldn't normally belong on a disambiguation page. StAnselm (talk) 03:33, 4 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

It feels like a list or an article that could have a list section, not a disambiguation page. - Bleaney (talk) 18:34, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
