As gosht is not a mis-spelling of ghoust, I have changed to page to reflect the actual meaning of the word. I have also expanded it a bit to explain why there is a common misconception that gosht means lamb in Indian cookery. Rklute (talk) 20:03, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

On earlier edits

To avoid edit-war, just wanted to clarify:

• "Western" is capitalized because it refers to Western Civilization, whereas "western" would simply mean anyone living West of India/Pakistan.
• I deleted the lengthy list of meats because it's not really needed, the word "meats" means all those things. Plus using "etc." is not considered appropriate on Wikipedia.
• "The Muslim culinary laws are respected in Pakistani dishes." borders on POV. I feel the sentence "hough meats which are haram (forbidden in Islam) are almost always avoided." makes the same point in a more neutral fashion, and also links to the haram article, explaining dietary laws to a casual reader rather than requiring them to read the entire Muslim article to find the dietary section.
• "beef in top of other meats, and Islam prohibits the eating of pork, proper Indian gosht is never made with these meats. " <-- "in top of other meats" is not standard American or British English, and would confuse many casual readers. The word "proper" is also POV, so I've edited it to be more neutral.
