This is a sourceless stub that adds nothing that couldn't just as easily be incorporated into the main article. If there is a potential to expand it, then we should, but if there isn't, or no one is willing to, it doesn't serve any purpose. TimothyJosephWood 22:12, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Well, stubs generally add very little. But the strength of stubs is not what they contain but what they could be developed into. I split Google Videos off Google Video (while rewriting the latter) because it is currently a sister service to Google Search and Google Images, and not a part of either. I do not argue very strongly against merging, but in my opinion it will have to be "un-merged" shortly after, as soon as someone starts adding content à la Google Images. — kashmiri ^TALK 01:00, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

As there has been no new material since its split from almost 2 years ago and WP:NODEADLINE, I suggest the pages should be merged and Google Videos can have a "redirect with possibilities" - the article can be made when more material comes from the service. – The Grid (talk) 20:30, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

I agree with the merge proposal, not for the same reasons though: There is a confusion with "Video" and "Videos" that is not really unfolded on the associated pages. To avoid this confusion, it is probably better to create a single page where the defunct video hosting service is mentioned in the history section, and where the transition from "Video" to "Videos" is well articulated. --Kapibara100 (talk) 18:35, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

The problem with merging is that these are two different items that need two different infoboxes, logos, etc. Also it is quite problematic to establish the primary topic – the current video search engine is borderline notable whereas Google Videos was once a big thing, perhaps akin to today's YouTube. Actually, the transition in 2012 was not from Google Videos to the video search engine as you suggested, but consisted in merging Google Videos into YouTube, while Google search engine was expanded to include film clips under a dedicated URL. I disagree, Google Video (the format and player) is fundamentally different from Google Videos (the search sector), it will be better if we merge this article Here ShiberToast (talk) 19:25, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
