  • Your distinction is incorrect. There really is no hard and fast distinction between a cluster and nanoparticle. The difference between Au₆ and Au₁₀₀₆ is only one of degree. Clusters do not necessarily include any organic component; see "cluster beams" for example. There is, of course, a world of difference between nanoparticles/clusters and colloids and I see the Gold nanoparticle article redirect to Colloidal gold.
