Etymology
[edit]Bogle gives a different, cited description of where the word "goblin" comes from.
the German term word bögge (from which böggel-mann ("Goblin") is derived)[7][8][9]

In Fiction
[edit]I cannot find "A Benevolent Goblin" in an actual copy of the Gesta Romanorum. The only edition I could find a similar story in was Tale LXXXI, Of Gratitude to God in Vol. 2 of the John Camden Hotten edition of Swan's translation, where it is basically the same story as the source given, but doesn't mention 'goblin' at all.
