Are Giuseppe Cannone and Pasquale Cannone related, e.g. brothers. Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 12:23, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Guiseppe or Giuseppe

[edit]

The only reference that states a forename spells it as Guiseppe ("you-eye"), but according to Google, Giuseppe ("eye-you") appears to be a 40-times more common spelling. I don't know enough Italian to know whether both spelling variations are valid, or whether one is typographical error, does anybody know? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk)

Although I'm not a native italian speaker, I am very sure that Guiseppe is a mis-spelling of Giuseppe. I've had italian classes at school for over five years and I've never encountered the name "Guiseppe", whereas "Giuseppe" is very common. The only reference you cite () is a british document, so even this is not originally italian, which increases the possibility of a typing error, IMHO.
