I deleted a sentence that was purely a matter of opinion with no citation listed. The deleted sentence did not pertain to defining pull-out programs, but stated an opinion that activities taking place in pull-out programs should be open to all students. During my career working with all students (including those with LD and those who are gifted), I've found such statements are often made by those who are uninformed. Regardless, it was merely a matter of opinion that did not contribute to the definition of gifted pull-out.

I would further recommend future edits be made to make citations regarding Susan Winebrenner more "matter-of-fact." It is quite clear that the person who wrote them feels critical toward Susan Winebrenner's recommendations. A more "matter-of-fact" wording would contribute to the gifted pull-out entry on Wikipedia.

I completely agree with this assessment. I am newer to Wikipedia as an editor, but have history and experience with regard to many aspects of the gifted and talented experience. I would very much like to work with someone with more experience in review and updates to an article such as this one that need extensive overhaul. This article appears to be very outdated and/or to have been written from the perspective of someone who is less informed on the subject than needed.

Might there be any other(s) who would have some time and be interested in working on this article together in the near future? It is such an important topic and this article is in such great need of a complete overhaul that I do not feel I should tackle it alone. X-RogueLeBeau-X (talk) 18:35, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
