Should GIBS (as in graz International Bilingual School be incorporated into the Gib disambiguition? And should the Disambiguition be called Gib/Gibs then? --Frauerika (talk) 13:44, 21 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

This page needs fixing up badly.

Gib - slang - the small patch of hair found under the bottom lip of a male or female, particularly similar to that found on Stuart from the popular australian soap "Neighbours" - E.G. "I don't like the cut of your GIB"

"Cut of your jib" is the usual spelling of the expression (originally nautical). AnonMoos

GIB in medical terminology stands for Gastrointestinal Bleeding. Should be added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.63.53.57 (talk) 02:29, 17 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

US/UK

[edit]

In UK English, the Gib of a crane is spelt Jib. Biscuittin (talk) 20:08, 3 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

There's no US/UK difference, it's spelled jib in both. Andy Dingley (talk) 20:28, 3 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
OK. I propose to rename the article Jib (crane). Are there any objections? Biscuittin (talk) 20:42, 5 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: move the disambiguation page to the plain title as requested, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 18:44, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Gib (disambiguation)Gib – move over redirect. The page "Gib" (ostensibly the primary topic) has been correctly moved to Jib (crane) because "gib" is an archaic spelling. Option A There is now no primary topic, so move this disambiguation page to the base name. Option B Gibraltar is the primary topic. Redirect Gib to Gibraltar, place a redirect hatnote, and leave the dab page where it is. Please support either Option A or Option B (or propose another primary topic).
