@Aszx5000: I saw your edit. Thanks for the suggestions for improvement. Perhaps there is a problem with the formatting of the citation, or perhaps there is a problem with the source I used. Could you please tell me more about it? Freetrashbox (talk) 12:12, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

This is a good article but there are whole blocks of text, and tables, with no inline/nearby citations - E.g. if a reader wanted to check the accuracy of a sentence, statement or fact, where would they immediately click?
Take a look a Emoji, which is not a perfect article by any means, but almost every sentence is referenced, and every table has clear referencing in the header that can be checked. Does that make sense? thanks. Aszx5000 (talk) 12:55, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for reply. This article is my translation from the Japanese version of the article, so I don't know if I can properly source all the statements, but I will try. Freetrashbox (talk) 10:36, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
It is a really interesting topic and a great article so I think it will really benefit from it. thanks. Aszx5000 (talk) 17:32, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Are ghost characters really ghost characters?

[edit]

In the article, it mentions several supposed “ghost characters”, but then after it mentions that the characters are still used. (For example, it says 閠 is a ghost character, but then after it says that in Vietnamese, it is a variant of the character 閏.) Can someone please explain⁇ Jaspers Blade (talk) 01:37, 5 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Likely means ghost characters in the context of being Japanese specifically, and that they may be used in other languages thus not considered ghost characters there. But then again there's contradiction if the characters are used in Japanese. Sorry if any of this sounded confusing.
