Georgia vs. Eastern Georgia

[edit]

I understand that kings of two eastern Georgian provinces were descendants of the royal House of Bagrationi but so were many others, including those from Imereti. The page need to be moved to George XII of Eastern Georgia or something like that.--Akovolyov (talk) 00:04, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's true but Kartli-Kakheti was the more well known Georgian kingdom. I moved it knowing about the existent of the Kingdom of Imereti.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 01:18, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
I concur with Little Spy. The case here is not the lineage and/or legitimacy of the kings of Kartli and Kakheti, but the geographical/political terminology. "Georgia" was a synonym of the kingdom of Kartli and Kakheti in contemporary sources and the kings Erekle II and George XII styled themselves as "kings of Georgia". --KoberTalk 03:58, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Another example of two Georgian kingdom but one more referred to as Georgia, is the period when David VII of Georgia and some kings that follohwed him, ruled alongside David VI of Georgia and his successors in Imereti We can also move it to George XII. But the title on his infobox should be reverted back to King of Georgia (Kartli and Kakheti) since that was the title he used.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 09:13, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
