Birth date

[edit]

It is given in the IMDB as 1899, so I will change it to that, since no sourcing in the article says differently.--Silverscreen 21:03, 28 January 2007 (UTC) --2.153.229.46 (talk) 16:38, 24 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Picasso [?] in Seventh Cross

[edit]

Perhaps not worth including in the article, but I thought it was interesting that in Macready's 1944 film The Seventh Cross, they make a point of showing a "modern" painting, resembling a Picasso, that Macready's character has hanging in his apartment. Perhaps it was from Macready's personal collection, or his gallery? Doesn't appear to be any other reason for featuring it so prominently in the film. Lafong (talk) 20:02, 23 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please double check his date of birth and death. I could've sworn I saw him on an tv episode of Law and Order in the 1990's. Please check. I'm curious.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Spiderbill3 (talkcontribs) 17:19, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Descent

[edit]

Born in Rhode Island but had a German accent and dueling scar?96.235.138.157 (talk) 03:38, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Paul PedantReply

I don't know about a German accent - I never detected that from him.
The scar, whilst it does look suspiciously like a 'schmiss', I think is corroborated to be from the car accident.
I'd be more interested to know if anyone has any further information on his supposed relation to the British Macready family? There is certainly a resemblance. Edkins1998 (talk) 17:34, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
The source for him claiming that descent doesn't appear to feature that claim, but assuming (which is a big assumption) that his parentage on FindAGrave is accurate, this descent does seem to be plausible. Edkins1998 (talk) 17:48, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
