In re:
The changes I made to this article ARE constructive. I initiated the original article, however, someone added superfluous and inaccurate content which I have - unsuccessfully - tried to delete. The commentary based on Holmes and Holmes book was not about the development of a geographic profile, but rather was Stea's (1969) list of elements in the perception of distance. As written, this was section was confusing and extraneous to the Wikipedia article.
